My wife is a hero - Must Read

“This is my wife Rayena, taking an afternoon nap. In an hour she will wake up, put on her clothes and get ready for a long day. She collects the stuff she needs and quickly does her hair and makeup.

She will complain that she looks terrible. I will deny it and give her a cup of coffee. She will drink her coffee while she sits with her legs crossed on the couch and cheerfully plays with our toddler.

She will look absentmindedly ahead while I am talking to her. Her thoughts with the heavy duty that awaits her. She thinks I do not notice it.

She will give the baby a kiss, give me a kiss and leave to spend the rest of the day caring for people who have experienced just the worst day of their lives.

Car accidents, gunshot wounds, explosions, burns. Professionals, drug addicts, prostitutes, mothers, fathers, sons, daughter and family. It does not matter what happened to you or who you are. She will take care of you. Fourteen hours later she will come home. Taking off the shoes which she wore through blood, tears and fire.

Sometimes she does not want to talk about it and sometimes she cannot wait to tell her story. Sometimes she laughs and sometimes she cries. But whatever happens, she’ll always be on time for her next shift.

My wife is a trauma specialist. My wife is a hero.” (via Facebook/Bobby Wesson)
